This is such a beautifully specific piece: part New York love letter, part literary close-reading of Taylor as a cultural text.

I loved the point about “hiding in plain sight.” It captures exactly why her storytelling keeps rewarding attention without needing to become conspiracy.

Also, “nostalgic for a moment that was fleeting right through me” is painfully accurate. I’m currently preparing a keynote speech for the graduation ceremony at the university where I lecture, and I’ve been listening to Taylor’s NYU speech for inspiration; so this found me at a very relevant moment.

Would love to continue this conversation sometime: Taylor, storytelling, reinvention, and graduation feels like excellent coffee territory.
